Gorillaz X Stylo (Alex Metric Remix)
I WANT MORE REMIXES!
If you See Something, Sey Something.
Plastic Beach drops next week! I heard the whole album and it’s brilliant. Go out and get it when it drops and check out this amazing video now!
I know Gorillaz have been giving us snipits of new material through these teaser videos since word of the new album started. Buzz circulating their third album “Plastic Beach” has been rising to a tremendous level. Hype isn’t even the word to use anymore. Well, this remix by Labrinth ft Tinie Tempah gives “Stylo” a new feel. Check it out!
Chiddy Bang are straight out of Philly where its always sunny. Remixing Radiohead’s “Reckoner” last year and their popular track “Opposite of Adults” which is a rework of MGMT’s “Kids” has definitely put them on the hipster map. Now will this be the year they put their style on some Hip Hop heads? You be the judge. Enjoy!

Blakroc did something this year that I love. When you bring Hip Hop together with a pinch of of that rock n roll you almost certainly get results. Sometimes you get lets say Lincon Park which is a bad result, but sometimes you get Blakroc. Blakroc are the genius that is The Black Keys and some of hip hops finest. From Mos Def, Raekwon, RZA and Pharoahe Monch to name a few. They performed on David Letterman performing the track “Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo) (feat. Jim Jones & Mos Def)”. I also added their performance from Jimmy Fallon. Enjoy!
If you have about 48 minutes of free time then you should glue your eyes to this video. Current.com’s newest project “Embedded” follows around either a band or artist around giving us insight into their lives. Mos Def is followed around Japan from Tokyo to Osaka during his most recent tour. Mos Def is one of the most unique, powerful people apart of the hip hop world. Not only does he drop an album when he can, but you can see him on the big screen from time to time. His latest effort “The Ecstatic” is one of my favorite albums by Mos to date. Lyrics throughout the album are gripping, keeping you wondering where you will end up next. Production by Madlib, his little brother Oh No, and the late-great J Dilla keeps it fresh. Slick Rick’s verse on “Auditorium” is poetry in motion driving the album further into the Boogey Mans world. Definitely one of the best Hip Hop albums of 2009. Enjoy the video.
