Jay Electronica X Exhibit C & J Dilla [mp3]

Jay Electronica is one of the dopest rappers of ALL TIME! When you take the flow of a genius and the production of the late great J Dilla it’s nothing but pure dopeness to the foundation of Hip Hop and its swaying back and forth trying to find some common ground. I hope Drake even knows who he is. This is what real Hip Hop is and considering Jay has a new joint on heavy rotation at 97.1 here in New York just prooves he is going to have a great year! Pick up his new EP, “Exhibit C” over at iTunes. Though “Suckas” was released last year around October I couldn’t help myself but to post it.

Fools Gold has really come a long way over the last couple years. The new Donnis single “Gone” is out now on iTunes and Drakes blog just dropped a remix of “Money To Blow” by A-Trak. Though it might have all started with Kid Cudi on FG they are really on the grind with this years Hip Hop artists. Enjoy the remix that is off of A-Trak’s sequel to Dirty South Dance. Enjoy! [mp3] Daniel Joseph – Gone Fishin’ Mixtape – Smoke In My Go Kart

If you haven’t heard of him already then this is a good start. Daniel Joseph has been around formerly as Espee One of the group Bully Mouth, but he has broken through as a solo artist. His long awaited solo debut, “Pretty/Ugly”, was released just last month with many welcoming fans and critics. From a blurb in XXL’s latest issueand album being released in stores everywhere he has made a name for himself. (For you Spotify people out there in Europe you can check out the album on there.) He has a new mixtape dropping by the end of the this year. Don’t worry we will let you know the second it drops. As I said if you don’t know the guy this is a good start because I have a track off his new mixtape “Gone Fishin’”. It’s called “Smoke In My Go Kart” and it’s straight fire! Enjoy! Check out the video for his first single, “Fly On Paper” after the jump.

Blakroc X Live [video]

Blakroc did something this year that I love. When you bring Hip Hop together with a pinch of of that rock n roll you almost certainly get results. Sometimes you get lets say Lincon Park which is a bad result, but sometimes you get Blakroc. Blakroc are the genius that is The Black Keys and some of hip hops finest. From Mos Def, Raekwon, RZA and Pharoahe Monch to name a few. They performed on David Letterman performing the track “Ain’t Nothing Like You (Hoochie Coo) (feat. Jim Jones & Mos Def)”. I also added their performance from Jimmy Fallon. Enjoy!

[mp3] Pato Pooh – On My Way ft. Ricky & Lazee

Could be one of the best videos of the year. From what sweden.se says:

“The video for Pato Pooh’s new single “Follow Me” (featuring a cameo by AdamTensta) is created by Maceo Frost, Ali Al-Zamli and David Paullo, who recently graduated form high school and used the studio in their old school to produce the video.”

The editing, the style, and the song itself are hot like fire! Check it out and ENJOY! 163! STOCKHOLM CITY!

Dam-Funk X Mirrors [video]

“Toeachizown” is Dam-Funk’s genius funk-psych-hip hop-instrumental album that has taken Stones Throw Records to another level if you can believe that. I can honestly say they are one of the best labels in the US not just hip hop label but all around. Enjoy this visual beauty above and don’t forget to download the track below. Enjoy! Stones Throw for life.

Mos Def X Embedded in Japan [video]

If you have about 48 minutes of free time then you should glue your eyes to this video. Current.com’s newest project “Embedded” follows around either a band or artist around giving us insight into their lives. Mos Def is followed around Japan from Tokyo to Osaka during his most recent tour. Mos Def is one of the most unique, powerful people apart of the hip hop world. Not only does he drop an album when he can, but you can see him on the big screen from time to time. His latest effort “The Ecstatic” is one of my favorite albums by Mos to date. Lyrics throughout the album are gripping, keeping you wondering where you will end up next. Production by Madlib, his little brother Oh No, and the late-great J Dilla keeps it fresh. Slick Rick’s verse on “Auditorium” is poetry in motion driving the album further into the Boogey Mans world. Definitely one of the best Hip Hop albums of 2009. Enjoy the video.
