Electro-Pop and all around cool guys The Go Find are back with a third album, “Everybody Knows It’s Gonna Happen, Only Not Tonight”, coming out on Morr Music on Feb. 16th. “It’s Automatic” is the first video off the new album. The song and video compliment each other very well. Giving a fun pop feel while using the album cover as a palette to bring us further into the mind of The Go Find. Check out the video and download a new song off the album after the jump. I also added some photos of the video shoot. Enjoy!
DâM-FunK’s critically acclaimed album of last year, “Toeachizown” is now available on 5LP box set. Stones Throw Records made it clear that the reason for the late release was “due to manufacturing issue”. So, go out and pick up your copy or head over to Stones Throw Records and order your copy. I can honestly say it’s worth it in every way shape or form. Check out the unreleased track “Speak The Truth”, some nice pictures of the “Toeachizown” boxset, and his tour dates for 2010 so far, all after the jump. Enjoy!
Fools Gold has really come a long way over the last couple years. The new Donnis single “Gone” is out now on iTunes and Drakes blog just dropped a remix of “Money To Blow” by A-Trak. Though it might have all started with Kid Cudi on FG they are really on the grind with this years Hip Hop artists. Enjoy the remix that is off of A-Trak’s sequel to Dirty South Dance. Enjoy! (via FG)
Brian Burton or as you might know him, Dangermouse, and James Mercer frontman of The Shins have been teasing us with blips of their new Music Video “The High Road” from their new project Broken Bells. Well, here it is. Enjoy!
Machine Dreams cover art gif brought to you my good friend Mark Portillo over at Drop Me Off In Harlem
Little Dragon’s “Machine Dreams” is my favorite album of the year for more than one reason alone. One of the best live shows, best album cover art, and Yukimi Nagano’s soulful voice is something fresh in a constantly repetitive style in music. You always hear about the best new thing, but how many times is it filled with soul, jazz elements. They toured the world, released their second album “Machine Dreams”. The first release off of Machine Dreams was a Double A-Side single “Fortune / Blinking Pigs”. To the very catchy mesmerizing “Feather” with an addictive crash with every start of a verse and chorus. You are airborne/You’ve got silver rays/Will it ever float will it ever soar along, those lyrics take you on a journey passing right along our way into “Never Never”. A almost pulsing of the keyboard and faster paced drum beat Yukimi talks about how, I could never have what you have/Something got me so tied/frozen inside/heart was pounding cause I knew that/I could never have what you have. As the album progresses so does the music. “Blinking Pigs” fast paced drums and the reverb on vocals is a haunting melody. Where their s/t album was more soulful and had a complex weaving of jazz, this album borrows heavily from a R&B Electro Pop sound. “Come Home” is a perfect example of that. “Fortune” was the first song that had me hooked. It starts with subtle synth in the background that slowly rises until its unnoticeable. Nagano’s intoxicating vocals intertwine throughout the song gripping more and more until the slowly fading breakdown kicks in. The title Machine Dreams couldn’t describe the album clearer. You almost feel as if you are in a dream state from beginning to end. A+ (more…)
If Fever Ray didn’t do it for you and you need a new fix from The Knife then look no further. As I mentioned well over a year ago The Knife wrote the score for a Opera inspired by Charles Darwin. The first single off the soundtrack “Colouring of Pigeons” is part “Silent Shout” part Opera and as a whole very weird. Check it out! Enjoy! NEW KNIFE!
“The Knife, in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock, are to release the studio version of the opera Tomorrow, In A Year, the album which Colouring of Pigeons is taken from on the 1st March 2010.” -theknife.net
