Over the weekend TheCobraBird dropped these gems on me. I am still not convinced Made In The Dark is all that good of an album, but the remixes are what makes any song on the album good. Hot Chip recently released the Hold On/Touch Too Much remixes and they get remix treatment by Switch, and Mock & Toof. Here is the London remix of Hold On and Touch Too Much remix by Ewan Pearson. Enjoy! Hot Chip – Hold On (Switch LDN Remix) Hot Chip – Touch Too Much (Ewan Pearson)
I wanted to save all Swedish bands I come across and want to post about until I was physically in Sweden, but Labrador sent over the new single by The Legends and I just had to post it. It’s has the edge of indie rocks noisy aspect, but a unique way of still being catchy and mellow. Seconds Away is a great song from The Legends, but to get a better idea of who they (he) is head over to his their myspace and buy the new single Nov. 5th (my bday). I also posted one of my favorite songs by The Legends that is a bit more electronic called Lucky Star. Enjoy!
These guys are great. Remixes are fun danceable tracks or like their Ludacris remix it’s hilarious and fun. This song sent over by The Disco Villains is just more of that hard hitting music they are known for. It’s a remake of Noise Beat Propaganda’sSexy Neon Wine.
Nancy a band from Brazil sporting tropical indie rock with cool girl Camila Zamith on vocals are not a band to pass by. That is recognised by Born Ruffians. They have decided that their first ever remix will be Nancy’s track Keep Cooler. It was sent over by the band. The remix sounds like a song you would listen to traveling cross country on horseback with your new ipod touch. It’s a beautiful rendition and Camila’s sweet voice turns it into a lullaby.

This is the new single and people are going crazy for it. I think it’s shit. The Killers fucking suck. I would much rather listen to Muse which is who The Killers wish they were. The album might be good, but this single sucks eggs.
Tell me what you think because I WANT TO KNOW WHY PEOPLE LIKE THIS SHIT SONG!
Minitel Rose, Russ Chimes, Anoraak, Maethelvin, College, & The Outrunners. What do all of these great electro-retro people have in common? They are all on the Valerie label which has just been gaining strength over the most part of this year and taking the spot Ed Rec has so easily laid out for them. Anoraak has a very extensive amazing bunch of remixes, but it’s his NLLR (No Love Lost Records) mix that really had hooked. His Nightdrive With You Ep doesn’t stop there. It also features a remix of the college track Teenage Color. The Outrunners released their Cool Feeling Ep for free earlier this year and Minitel Rose released their debut album The French Machine this year. Russ Chimes has gone on to remix some of the best and even having a remix featured on a Sam Sparro single. All in all everyone on the label is amazing. You can read about their tours, new music and things they like on the Valerie blog. Enjoy some songs and remixes as well as some really good mixes from these guys!
So, I knew that once Crystal Castles made their mark others would follow. That group is You Love Her Coz She’s Dead. They are bit more 8-bit than Crystal Castles, but just as much fun. This is the song featured on Kitsune Compilation 6 called Superheroes due out in October. Enjoy Bitches!
Ratatat definitely had some heads spinning with their LP3. It’s still those great effects and guitar hooks, but they seem to have been influenced by more experimental music on this release. That much is clear on their latest single Shempi. The Zongamin remix doesn’t stray away from that experimental sound. It has sax played as if it had been chopped up and edited. Enjoy!
